Description
Junior Classes (5 - 12)
Junior classes introduce children from the ages of 5 - 12 to the concepts of speech technique and drama performance. Students work individually and in groups which builds their self confidence and encourages a healthy teamwork ethic. Classes throughout the year integrate improvisation, mime, public speaking, solo verse and solo drama ensuring a balance of performance skills.
Classes cater for each age group accordingly and content becomes more focused on exam and feis work from the age of 8 upwards. Once students reach examination stage, classes become more focused on solo performance. Students are also encouraged to participate in drama festivals once a year and partake in the Christmas show.
Senior Classes (12 - 18)
Senior classes cater for students from 12 - 18 years of age. Classes continue to incorporate improvisation, mime, and characterisation, while solo performance becomes the core element of the lesson. As students progress through the examination grades, classes evolve to include drama theory and public speaking. Though classes become more intense as the level rises, there is still plenty of time for fun drama games and exercises ensuring that creativity continues to flourish.
Public Speaking and Communication (12 - 18)
This class focuses on the communication of information or ideas to a group or audience in such a way as to maintain their interest. Speaking to a group, in the context of a job interview, a presentation on a topic or issue, a sales pitch, or a formal speech or debate is increasingly common in school, college and work in present times. The classes encourage clear, fluent and expressive speaking on a variety of topics and in a variety of imagined settings.
